This smoothie recipe is fast, easy and delicious. Plus, it packs lots of nutrients along with some protein and fiber. Anytime I can get all of those things into my kids (or myself for that matter) is a win! To make this smoothie even faster, batch make these by placing all ingredients into a small freezer bag and placing the bags in the freezer. The night before serving, just grab a bag, put in the fridge to thaw, and in the morning simply place all the ingredients in a blender. Breakfast will be ready in no time!
Makes two 8 ounce smoothies
Ingredients
2 cups frozen berries (of your choice)
1/2 cup greek yogurt (whole, lowfat or fat-free works)
1/2 cup orange juice (or juice* of your choice)
1-2 big handful of spinach, stems removed
1 T of chia seeds, optional
Method
Blend all ingredients together well using a handheld mixer or regular blender. Et voila! Enjoy.
* You can also just use water here. If you do and you find the smoothie a little too tart, feel free to add a good squeeze of honey to it.
