Lemon Sorbet

It is hard to believe that something as flavorful as this lemon sorbet only has three ingredients.  This refreshing dessert is the perfect end to a summer day!

 

Lemon Sorbet

1.5 cups water

1 cup granulated sugar

Zest from 3 lemons

1 cup freshly squeezed lemon juice

1 T vodka, optional*

 

Combine water and sugar in pot and place on stove over medium heat.  Stir until sugar is dissolved (do not allow it to boil).  Let cool.  Combine all ingredients together in a bowl and place in the refrigerator until cold.   Once cold, follow instructions on your ice cream maker until the sorbet comes together.  Place in a freezer safe container until ready to serve.  Enjoy!

 

*Vodka helps the sorbet not freeze too hard, making it easier to scoop.  The more you add, the slushier the sorbet will be.  Experiment to find your favorite sorbet consistency.  However, it can be made without any vodka at all.
