A Magical Mandarin Oriental Paris Stay
Checking in to the Mandarin Oriental Paris after walking all over Paris for two days in what the French call a canicule (heatwave) might have been the most magical experience of my trip.
I was in Paris for a business trip sponsored by Paris Je t'aime and the MO Paris. The hotel knocked it out of the park in every sense - from the courteous staff who thought of every detail to the gorgeous florals and serene atmosphere to the open-air garden oasis in the center of the hotel that somehow was nowhere near as hot as the streets of Paris. It was, in a word, fabulous. Walking in from the heat of the city to this gem of a hotel was a dream.
A Top-notch Welcome
Located in the 1st arrondissement of Paris, the Mandarin Oriental is just steps from the best luxury shopping the city has to offer. Famous sites such as the Louvre, Place de la Concorde, Place Vendôme, La Madeleine and Les Tuileries are also all within a short walk.

This excellent location combined with the outstanding service and beautiful setting of The Mandarin Oriental Paris makes the hotel a stellar choice for those coming to Paris who are looking for a certain level of refinement as well as a refreshing design aesthetic in a luxury setting.
Spacious living area with a garden view
The hotel hosted me in a suite that was exquisite in every way. I could have lived the rest of my days in the gorgeous, well-appointed space.
Serene bedroom with wonderful nightly turndown service
When I asked for different pillows, they were in my room in an instant. Each night I returned to the hotel, someone had wrapped my phone cord neatly beside my bed and expertly arranged everything in the room so that my evenings were spent winding down and not tidying up anything. The service was simply impeccable.
A bathroom I could live in with luxurious products
The well stocked bathroom with a soaking tub and spacious shower may have been my favorite part of the suite. I spent an inordinate amount of time lingering in here.
Coffee Bar, Mini Bar and lots of storage
Beautifully placed art in both the rooms and throughout the hotel was clearly meticulously planned and much appreciated by myself and others.
Lush center courtyard with a beautiful bar and restaurant
Eating breakfast and hearing the birds in this sanctuary of a garden is something I will never forget. I highly recommend taking the time for a leisurely breakfast here.
Gorgeously plated food at Camélia
My first night at the hotel, I dined with my new friends at the restaurant. We sat in the courtyard and were presented with a delicious menu that was as well thought-out as it was presented.
Don't miss the stunningly beautiful breakfast pastries
The pastry chef at the Mandarin Oriental, Julien Dugourd, is acclaimed for very good reason. Do not miss the raspberry croissant, but don't make the mistake I did by thinking you can eat it on the go. It needs to be properly devoured while seated unless you want to have the most delectable raspberry filling all over you.
